In the Machine Learning (ML) team at Resolution Games, we apply cutting edge ML techniques to solve hard business problems for our game teams and provide memorable experiences for our players. We're a small team, still gaining momentum right now, but we're very ambitious! As we scale up, we're planning to tackle a wide variety of problems ranging from augmenting game testing + balancing, to creating powerful bots for our players, to helping empower our content creation teams, and much more.
In the short time since we began our work at Resolution, we've shipped a project that used generative models to synthesize real-time animation for a virtual character in AR. This enabled the character to improvise and generate novel dance moves with the player in real-time based on how they were dancing. We're currently working on dynamic and human-like bots for an upcoming VR game using deep reinforcement learning and imitation learning techniques.
On a day to day basis, you might find us working with data cleaning/transformation/processing, designing/training/running experiments with our ML models, or evaluating our results. You might also find us working with the game engines and technologies that our game teams use for development to integrate and deploy our work into the games. We also try to keep up with advances in the field of ML through our research paper reading group discussions, watching video talks together, and attending conference sessions.
